Phoenix Carpentry & Building (QLD) awarded:

2025 Master Builders Sunshine Coast Region – Trade Contractor of the Year for Nature, Cotton Tree.

Nature, Cotton Tree is a landmark development comprising 13 exclusive luxury residences spanning eight levels, each offering breathtaking views over the Esplanade and Maroochy River. This sophisticated project features premium amenities, including a fully equipped gym, a private steam room, a timber sauna, a 25-metre lap pool, a yoga studio, communal dining areas, retail and café spaces, as well as showers, toilet facilities and secure key card entry.

Phoenix Carpentry & Building (QLD) was engaged to execute the ceilings, linings and partitions package, as well as carpentry and plastering works, soffits, and cladding throughout the project. Our team was instrumental in bringing the architectural vision to life, particularly in the execution of the challenging intricate curved walls, with some angles reaching 90 degrees or less. This required innovation, precision and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.

One of the most complex aspects of the project was achieving a seamless integration of curved walls with adjoining straight walls.

Precision in set-out was crucial, and templates were used to ensure consistency throughout. Sheet layouts were also carefully planned to enhance the final finish.

Our team demonstrated exceptional attention to detail throughout the project. The bathroom areas required reworking to achieve a level of finish beyond the expected Level 4 standard, as the tile tolerances demanded a precise 1mm alignment from floor to ceiling. The ceiling-to-blind pelmet junctions were meticulously executed to maintain a consistent margin, ensuring a seamless and polished appearance. Additionally, the curved light coffers and bulkheads were constructed with precision, preserving the integrity of the architectural design and enhancing the overall vision of the development.

We actively participated in weekly site meetings to coordinate sequencing and logistics, ensuring smooth project progression. When design details were unclear, we facilitated discussions with the project manager and architect to align on the vision and develop buildable solutions. Our proactive approach to problem-solving and commitment to collaboration were instrumental in achieving a high-quality result.

Nature, Cotton Tree has set a new benchmark for luxury residential developments on the Sunshine Coast. It stands out from surrounding unit complexes with its unique design and premium amenities, redefining what high-end coastal living can offer. We are incredibly proud to have been part of a project that not only challenged our team but also showcased our ability to deliver excellence in construction.

This project was an absolute pleasure for our team, and its success would not have been possible without the dedication and skill of our highly talented Project Manager, Site Supervisors and onsite crew.

Phoenix Carpentry & Building is honoured to have contributed to a development that will leave a lasting impact on the Sunshine Coast, and we look forward to bringing our expertise to future landmark projects in the region.
